Acupuncture is a therapy, which uses natural laws and energies with the application of extremely thin needles and or other stimulus to specific points on the body. These points are grouped along certain pathways, known as meridians that are located on all surfaces of the body. Whenever the energy flow through these pathways is absent, deficient, interrupted, excessive, or blocked in any way, health is disrupted, resulting in illness or pain. By stimulating appropriate acupuncture points along these meridians, the energy is released and regulated, and health is restored.

Tui Na (Acupressure) is a Chinese style of therapeutic massage. In treatment the therapist applies pressure to the acupuncture points of the body with thumbs fingers and palms. Tui Na can help treat pain and prevent physical dysfunction and maintaining tissue health by increasing circulation. Regular Tui Na treatments reduces stress, pain, promotes general well being and slows down the aging process. “Meridian Tui Na” is a special technique of applying pressure along the meridians in a particular direction using the principles of Chinese Medicine.

Gua Sha ( “Message Scraping”) is a technique, which uses pressure and friction to the external skin, intentionally bringing the Sha redness to the surface. Gua Sha moves, circulates and releases blood trapped in the peripheral capillaries. This technique affects the surface of the skin. Gua Sha releases the exterior Sha syndrome by moving body fluids and blood, mimicking the effect of sweat. The skin will feel warm and the presence of redness is often seen after a Gua Sha treatment. The muscles deep to the superficial fascia and the organs deep to the muscles are also affected. Any pain, spasm or tightness in the muscles is immediately relieved by this new circulation of blood. The organs are likewise revitalized by the increased circulation of energy, blood, and fluids.

The light source is placed in contact with the skin allowing the photon energy to penetrate tissue, where it interacts with various intracellular bio molecules resulting in the restoration of normal cell function and enhancement of the body’s healing processes.
